Kitaaben is a song which I wrote after facing a lot of betrayal, gossip and emotional trauma in my home country India. This is my first original song in Hindi that I wrote and composed. The lyrics look at books as a metaphor as if it were my life, where every page unravels a new chapter, sometimes interpreted differently by every reader, however, only the author knows the facts. After moving to America, I found a new purpose, new vision and new connections. I met 3rd State (Korean origin) at an Asian Arts meet organized by DAAART, where I performed and he did a DJ set at the end of the night. I approached him with this ethereal song I had written and he transformed it into this amazing dance track which transcends genres and gives it a trance like sound which the song truly deserved. The 3rd State Remix builds a contemporary sonic framework around that performance, combining pop accessibility with electronic production and a modern rhythmic approach.
